Under-scrutiny Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, is touted to continue with his responsibilities as captain after the team's World Cup exit.
The Men in Green finished fifth on the points table at the end of the group stage. Pakistan missed out on reaching to the knockout stages, winning four matches out of nine. The performances have raised innumerable questions over roles and responsibilities in the dressing room and the board management committee.
Shedding light over the personnel changes within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the director of media and communications, Aalia Rasheed spoke to media outlet ARY NEWS.

Who will be selected as Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Team?
The position of the chief selector of Pakistan is currently vacant. Former Pakistan skipper, Inzamam Ul-Haq recently resigned from his post of the chief selector. Inzamam was accused of having "conflicts-of-interest" with the PCB.
I am stepping down from the post to offer the PCB the opportunity to conduct a transparent inquiry about the conflict-of-interest allegations raised in the media. If the committee finds me not guilty, I will resume my role as the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said.
The PCB spokesperson Aalia Rasheed came out and denied claims of Wahab Riaz leading the race as the next chief selector. Rasheed stated that the interviews and consultations regarding the chief selector role are ongoing, but the final decision is yet to be made.

What did Aalia Rasheed say about former cricketers Mohammad Hafeez and Younis Khan?
Aalia Rasheed also talked about the certainty of the involvement of former cricketers in assuming various roles in and around the first team. One of the names is that of former all-rounder, Mohammad Hafeez.
The PCB communications head said that T20 World Cup-winning captain, Younis Khan will groom young cricketers in Karachi. She also spoke about Mohammad Hafeez, who will be given key responsibilities by the PCB. Hafeez could lead the rebuild of the team, and guide the team into the new era.
Former left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir is expected to work at the grassroots level, grooming young cricketers on their way to the senior team.

Aalia Rasheed denied all rumours regarding a change in the captaincy position. She hinted that Babar Azam is expected to remain as the captain of Pakistan for now. However, it remains to be seen how that unfolds.

Pakistan will face Australia in a three-match Test series as a part of the World Test Championship cycle 2023-25. The three Tests will be played in Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney respectively.
