Shane Warne was many things to many different people, but to Jackson, Brooke and Summer, he was just "Dad".

The cricketing icon was farewelled at a fitting ceremony at his beloved MCG on Wednesday.

Amid tributes from sporting legends, rockstars, mates and all manner of celebrities, his three children also spoke of their memories of their dad.

Those watching who knew Warne as the leg-spinning genius or the larrikin, larger-than-life personality were left touched by the heartfelt tributes to Warnie as a father.

“I want to say thank you, Dad. Thank you for all the kind gestures you always did for me. They never went unnoticed," Summer Warne said.

"You drew memories in my mind I will never erase and you painted colours in my heart I will never replace. You’ll always live forever inside my heart, Dad, and I will continue your legacy.

"Forever my dad, no matter where you are."

Brooke Warne spoke of her sadness at missing out on sharing milestones with her father.

“I have to come to terms with the fact that my dad will never get to see me grow up, or Jackson, or Summer," Brooke Warne said.

"Or see us get married one day, have kid, get the promotion I was going for. I could go forever about what we’re going to miss out on together, but nothing will be more upsetting than how much I already miss you, Dad."

Those watching were left moved by the memories Warne's children shared.

Fittingly, it was Warne's three children who unveiled the Shane Warne Stand at the iconic venue.
