Australia seemed to have found their mojo. The five-time world champions started off their campaign with two defeats, but have bounced back in some style to secure three consecutive wins.
On the other hand, New Zealand have been in fine form as well with the Black Caps riding on a four-match winning streak before their four-wicket loss to India.

6:27 pm- AUSTRALIA WIN! Lockie Ferguson had to hit this one for six, but he can barely get Starc's yorker off the ground. It's a 5-run win for Australia, in dramatic fashion. New Zealand 383/9 in 50 overs (Boult 10*, Ferguson 0*).
Lockie Ferguson comes to the crease.
6:25 pm- WICKET! 7 off 2 needed, and Neesham had to come back for two, but he falls agonisingly short! Put the dive in and all, but he was just too far out! That may be the game for Australia! New Zealand 383/9 in 49.5 overs (Boult 10*, Neesham 58).
Trent Boult is the new man in.
6:05 pm- WICKET! That's the end of Matt Henry. Slightly shorter ball from Cummins, and he just steers it straight to Hazlewood at point. New Zealand 346/8 in 43.3 overs (Henry 9, Neesham 37*).
Matt Henry comes to the crease.
5:49 pm- WICKET! Santner hit Zampa over the leg side for six off the first ball of the over, and he tries to go again. But the extra bounce from the top spinner means he skies it, and Glenn Maxwell holds on to a good catch. New Zealand 320/7 in 43.3 overs (Santner 17, Neesham 21*).
In comes Mitchell Santner.
5:36 pm- WICKET! There's the one they wanted! The slower ball from Cummins is bowled wide outside off. Ravindra tries to smash it over the boundary, but only picks out Marnus Labuschagne on the boundary. It's been a brilliant innings from the youngster. New Zealand 293/6 in 40.2 overs (Ravindra 116, Neesham 12*).
5:32 pm- Amazingly, New Zealand remain in the chase with 10 overs to go. They need a shade under 100, and if Ravindra can stick around for just five of these overs, he could take them to the threshold of victory. New Zealand 292/5 in 40 overs (Ravindra 116*, Neesham 11*).
Jimmy Neesham is the new batter.
5:21 pm- WICKET! It's not Ravindra, but Australia will take this! Phillips tries to take on Maxwell over long off, but he mistimes it. Marnus Labuschagne takes a good catch, back-pedalling. New Zealand 265/5 in 37 overs (Ravindra 102*, Phillips 12).
5:12 pm- New Zealand have done extremely well to stay in the game until this point. The chase seems almost agonisingly close for them, but at four down a few miscalculations could end it all very quickly. This game is on a knife-edge for now. New Zealand 244/4 in 35 overs (Ravindra 87*, Phillips 6*).
Glenn Phillips is the new batter.
4:56 pm- WICKET! It's that man Zampa again! Latham tries to take him on with the reverse sweep, but it catches the top edge and goes straight to the man at third. New Zealand 222/4 in 31.2 overs (Ravindra 71*, Latham 21).
4:48 pm- The equation for New Zealand is almost T20-esque now; except they're already three down and don't have a Powerplay. But they will take heart in the fact that they've come more than halfway through the innings, and are well and truly alive. New Zealand 208/3 in 30 overs (Ravindra 62*, Latham 16*).
In comes Tom Latham.
4:27 pm- WICKET! Adam Zampa is in on the action! Mitchell comes down the wicket and tries to lift him over long on, but only picks out the fielder in the deep! New Zealand 168/3 in 24 overs (Ravindra 40*, Mitchell 54).
4:07 pm- Daryl Mitchell has begun to take the attack to Australia, even as Ravindra has started to struggle just a touch. The required run rate is by no means out of hand, though. This chase could yet be on. New Zealand 142/2 in 20 overs (Ravindra 24*, Mitchell 45*).
3:42 pm- The current Kiwi pair have done well to rebuild the innings at a run-a-ball so far. But the required run rate continues to creep upwards all the time. Someone will have to step on the accelerator soon. New Zealand 107/2 in 15 overs (Ravindra 16*, Mitchell 21*).
Daryl Mitchell comes to the crease.
3:22 pm- WICKET! Hazlewood gets this to bounce a little extra off a length. Young tries to steer it away square on the off side, but only edges it to Starc at third man. New Zealand 72/2 in 9.4 overs (Ravindra 2*, Young 32).
Rachin Ravindra is the new batter.
3:12 pm- WICKET! It's a wicket out of nothing, and Devon Conway will be kicking himself. This was a length ball on leg stump from Hazlewood. Conway tries to swing it away behind square, but only hits it straight to fine leg. New Zealand 61/1 in 7.2 overs (Conway 28, Young 23*).
3:01 pm- It's a good, solid start for New Zealand here. No wickets lost, and they're scoring at over 9 runs an over. It remains to be seen how long they can keep this up, though. New Zealand 46/0 in 5 overs (Conway 26*, Young 10*).
2:37 pm- This would be some chase if New Zealand managed to win, or even got close. They need a good start for any of that to happen, though. Devon Conway is on strike, facing up to Mitchell Starc. Wide, down the leg side. New Zealand 1/0 in 0.0 overs (Conway 0*, Young 0*).
Join us after the innings break.
2:07 pm- WICKET! Australia are all-out. They won't get to 400 as Starc gets holed out. Australia 388/10 in 49.2 overs (Hazlewood 0*)

Josh Inglis comes at the crease.
1:11 pm- WICKET! Australia are losing their way. The Kiwi spinners are stitching a remarkable fightback. Labuschagne perishes after playing a loose shot against Santner. Australia 274/5 in 38.1 overs (Maxwell 6*, Inglis 0*)
Glenn Maxwell is out in the center.
1:00 pm- WICKET! Santner bowls slow in the air. Marsh gets caught in the crease. The ball turns away and knocks the timber. Australia 264/4 in 36.3 overs (Labuschagne 16*, Maxwell 0*)

Marnus Labuschagne is out in the middle.
12:29 pm- WICKET! Phillips is running riot with the ball. He dismisses Smith and now has a three-for. What a spell this is turning out to be. Australia 228/3 in 29.4 overs (Marsh 16*, Labuschagne 0*)
Steve Smith is in at No.4.
12:11 pm- WICKET! How often we have seen a batter getting dismissed after scoring a hundred. The same happens with Head. Phillips claims his second scalp. Australia 200/2 in 23.2 overs (Marsh 6*, Smith 0*)

Australia vs New Zealand: Prediction for CWC 2023 match
It is a day fixture. Both Australia and New Zealand look well-balanced on paper. However, toss advantage will play a crucial role.
These teams have quality pacers in their squads. On one corner, we have the likes of Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry. The Australian troika of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood make up a solid fast-bowling attack. So, to take advantage of bowling-friendly conditions in the morning, bowling first will be preferred.
On current form, there is not much that separates Australia and New Zealand. But if asked to pick between the two, I will take a punt on Australia to extend their winning streak.
