The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to field India's men's and women's cricket teams in the upcoming Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China as per Indian Express.
Though cricket was a part of the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014, this will be the first time that the Indian cricket teams will participate in the Asiad.

While the Indian men's team will take part in Asian games, top stars like Virat Kohl, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya are likely to remain absent from the squad. The team will also have a new captain for the tournament.
The women's team though, will field their possible side for the Asian Games. They also participated in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England where they finished with a silver medal having lost to Australia in the final.
This will be the first time since 1998 that the two Indian teams will participate in a tournament together. The last time this happened was in the Sahara Cup in 1998 which was part of the Commonwealth Games.

The Asian Games 2023 will be held from September 23 to October 8 in China.
