Bangladesh beat India by six runs in their final match of the Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours. India have finally been beaten in the tournament, with Bangladesh getting their first win in the knockout rounds.
India won the toss, and put their opposition into bat. Bangladesh put a healthy total on the board, with Shakib Al-Hasan (80) playing a captain's innings. He was ably supported by Towhid Hridoy, who added 54 runs to the total.

Nusum Ahmed came in as a surprise package for the Indian bowlers, scoring 44 runs in the end. Bangladesh finished with 265/8 in 50 overs. Shardul Thakur picked up three wickets, while Mohammad Shami bagged two dismissals.
Shubman Gill silenced his critics, as the opener racked up yet another impressive performance on the big stage. Gill scored a century (121), while Axar Patel (42) and Suryakumar Yadav (26) scored valuable runs too. Mustafizur Rahman picked up three wickets for Bangladesh, helping them secure their maiden win in the Super Fours.

Shubman Gill (9/10): Gill built a superb innings, but couldn't quite take India over the finish line. The 23-year-old scored 121 runs off 133 deliveries and was the driving force in the run-chase.
Rohit Sharma (1/10): It was a disappointing night for the Indian skipper, as he got out without troubling the scoreboard. Rohit was dismissed in the first over by Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
Tilak Varma (2/10): The debutant failed to announce himself in the ODI stage, as he was dismissed for five runs. Tilak bowled for the first time in India colours, but could not claim a wicket.

KL Rahul (3/10): Rahul took his time on the crease, but failed to get going. Rahul scored 19 runs in 39 deliveries. Rahul's failure in rotating the strike put pressure on other batsmen.
Ishan Kishan (1/10): Ishan Kishan was a failure on the night, scoring five runs off 15 balls. He struggled to make any impact on the field today.
Suryakumar Yadav (4/10): Surya scored 26 runs with the bat, but that was not enough for India. Under pressure, Surya was not able to play his natural game, and this affected his style today.

Ravindra Jadeja (3/10): Jadeja picked one wicket with the ball, but failed to contribute in batting. The Southpaw was dismissed by Mustafizur for seven runs.
Axar Patel (6/10): Patel played a crucial knock of 42 runs towards the end of India's innings, but that was not enough for India to grab the win..
Shardul Thakur (8/10): Despite going for runs, Shardul picked three wickets in his ten overs. He wiped out the top order of Bangladesh, dismissing Tanzid Hasan, Anamul Haque, and skipper Shakib, who scored 80 runs.
Mohammad Shami (7/10): Shami bowled beautifully giving 32 runs in his eight overs, picking up crucial wickets of Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy. He bowled a maiden over in his spell too.
Prasidh Krishna (6/10): Prasidh Krishna bowled an economical spell, giving away 43 runs in nine overs. He bagged the crucial wicket of Nusum Ahmed.
What next for the Indian team?
The Indian team wil compete against Sri Lanka on Sunday for the Asia Cup 2023 silverware. The match will be played in Colombo.
