Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are clubbed in the same group in Asia Cup 2023 which will be held in Pakistan in September.
Newly crowned ACC Men's Premier Cup champions Nepal have qualified for the tournament and will occupy the last spot in Group A alongside India and Pakistan.

Reigning Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka are placed in Group B alongside Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Nepal qualified for the Asia Cup 2023 after beating UAE in the final of the 2023 ACC Men's Premier Cup. They topped Group A which consisted of teams like Oman, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Qatar and then defeated Kuwait in the semi-final before beating UAE in the final.

In a rain-affected final, UAE were bowled out for 117 which Nepal chased in down in 30 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.
