In June, the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup is set to get underway in the West Indies and USA, and Pakistan will arrive hoping to add another crown to their 2009 victory.

In April, Pakistan took on a weakened New Zealand side in a five-match home T20I series which ended level at 2-2. Later this month, they will travel to Ireland and England for their final preparations before the tournament.

There has been much discussion over the Pakistan squad, with many suggesting the final list of fifteen will largely comprise of those players who have been picked to tour Ireland and England.

Did Aamir Jamal take a subtle dig at Babar Azam after being dropped from Pakistan T20 squad for Ireland-England series?

One of the players not selected for the tour was pace-bowling all-rounder Aamir Jamal. Jamal made heads turn worldwide when he excelled with both bat and ball on Pakistan Test tour of Australia in December 2023.

On Tuesday, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to put up a cryptic post, accompanied by a video of his batting in the ongoing English County Championship, where he is representing Warwickshire.

Yesterday, Pakistan captain Babar Azam spoke about leaving Jamal out. According to Ary News, he said, "Aamer Jamal performed in Test cricket and Test performance cannot be compared with T20s. He is a fine all-rounder. He needs some more time and more matches under his belt which will get him further polished for T20 cricket".
