West Indian spinner Akeal Hosein, who represents the Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 2024, bagged a hat-trick on Friday in Rawalpindi against Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi.

In the first innings of the game, Hosein bagged three wickets in as many deliveries, in his final over of the four-over spell. The spinner came on to bowl the 16th over of the Zalmi innings. He picked three wickets in the second, third, and fourth balls of the over.

Despite Hosein's heroics, who ended up picking four wickets, Peshawar managed to put up a respectable total of 196 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

How many players have recorded a hat-trick in the PSL?

Including Akeal Hosein, the latest entrant in the elite list of bowlers, a total of six bowlers have bagged a hat-trick in PSL history. The previous entries came in the names of Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan, Imran Tahir, Mohammad Sami, and Abbas Afridi.

Akeal Hosein is only the second overseas player to pick a hat-trick in PSL history, after Imran Tahir. It is noteworthy that no overseas pacer has managed to bag a hat-trick for themselves.
