Former South Africa player AB De Villiers has backed the Cape Town surface after Rohit Sharma criticised the International Cricket Council (ICC). Cape Town hosted the second and final Test of the two-match Test series between India and South Africa.
As it turned out, the second Test match concluded in under two days of play. The Test match at the Newlands Stadium saw only 107 overs being bowled across four innings.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma later criticised ICC for having double standards when it comes to slamming Indian surfaces.

AB De Villiers: Cape Town wicket was "stock-standard"
Speaking on his YouTube channel, De Villiers brought up the topic of the second Test match as he said,
It (Cape Town) was a pretty stock-standard wicket, in my opinion. I remember jumping around there on Day 1. If you can just get through the first session on Day 1, it gets easier.
The former South Africa player sighted Ben Stokes' example in the defence of the pitch, stating that the Englishman had scored a double-century on the same venue.
If you see the players playing their shots and not hanging around, they were doing well. I remember Ben Stokes scoring a double hundred there. I scored some hundreds there.
