Dwayne Bravo - 183

One of the finest all-rounders to ever feature in the IPL, Dwayne Bravo holds the record for most wickets taken across competition history.

The West Indies international started his IPL career back in 2008 when he joined the Mumbai Indians. He then went on to play for the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions before returning to Chennai for another four years between 2018 and 2022.

Now aged 39, Bravo officially announced his IPL retirement back in December 2022 and instead will return this time around as a bowling coach for the Super Kings.

Who has taken the most wickets in an IPL season?

As well as holding the record for most wickets taken across IPL history, Bravo also jointly holds the record for most wickets taking in a single season with 32.

Who has the best bowling figures in an IPL innings?

Alzarri Joseph - 6/12

Back in March 2019, West Indies bowler Alzarri Joseph recorded the best bowling figures ever in an IPL match.

Playing for the Mumbai Indians, Joseph demolished the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting attack to finish the match with figures of 6/12. Thanks to his deceptive pace, Joseph struck with his first ever delivery in the IPL, dismissing David Warner with an inside edge.

Five more wickets soon fell afterwards as he broke the IPL record that had stood since the competition's first season - Sohail Tanvir's 6 for 14.

Who has taken the most five-wicket hauls in IPL history?

James Faulkner & Jaydev Unadkat - 2

Only two players in the history of the IPL have taken multiple five-wicket hauls before.

Australian James Faulkner remarkably took both of his for Rajasthan Royals vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad in the space of 20 days back in 2013 to become the only player in IPL history to take two five-wicket hauls in the same season.

Jaydev Unadkat also shares the record, taking his first in 2013 and second in 2017.

Who has recorded the most maidens in IPL history?

Praveen Kumar - 14

In short form cricket, maiden overs can end up being just as important as taking wickets when matches come down to the wire.

Praveen Kumar remains the king of the maidens across IPL history, recording 14 during his career. Featuring for five different teams in the competition, Kumar retired back in 2017 but looks likely to keep hold of his record for the foreseeable future.

Who has recorded the most dot balls in IPL history?

Bhuvneshwar Kumar - 1406

Similarly to maiden overs, dot balls are also incredibly important in helping a team secure victory in short-form cricket.

As of the start of the 2023 IPL season, Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar holds the record for most dot balls bowled during the competition's history with 1406.

He'll look to add to that tally further when he returns for a ninth season with the Sunrisers Hyderabad, especially as fellow bowler Ravichandran Ashwin isn't too far behind his record at present with 1,387.

Who has conceded the most runs in an IPL innings?

Basil Thampi - 0/70

Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Basil Thampi holds the unfortunate title of most runs conceded during a single IPL innings.

Back in May 2018 the pacer, who was named the IPL Emerging Player of the Season in 2017, was hit for 0/70 by the Royal Challengers Bangalore attack.

Prior to that performance, Ishant Sharma had held the record after conceding 66 runs in an innings.
