Where are the semi-finals of the 2024 T20 World Cup?

The first semi-final of the tournament is set to be held at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago. Meanwhile, the second semi-final will be held at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

The final of the competition is scheduled to be held at the Kensington Oval Stadium in Barbados on June 29th.

What time will the semi-finals game start at?

The first semi-final that is to be held in Trinidad and Tobago will kick off at 6:00 AM IST.

The second semi-final in Guyana is scheduled to kick-off at 8:00 PM IST.

Is there a reserve day for the semi-final and final?

Yes, all the knockout games including the final will consist of a reserve day, except for semi-final 2, which will rather be having an additional time period of 250 minutes.

This is because the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup is set to be played on the 27th of June at the Providence stadium in Guyana. In the case that the game moves to reserve day, the game will be played on the 28th with the final scheduled at 29th.

This would result in the winners of the second semi-final to play the final in a gap of 24 hours, resulting in minimal amount of rest for the players. Another problem seems to be the distance between the venues of the second semi-final and the final.

The distance from Guyana and Barbados is just under a 1000 km, which would be a two-to-three hour flight. Having already played the semi-final and the final in under 24 hours, a three-hour flight journey would be another worry to handle for the second semi-final winners.

Hence, a 250-minute buffer period has been allotted instead of a reserve day for the second semi-final contest.
