This Date in NBA History (Feb. 14): Michael Jordan wears No. 12 jersey vs. Orlando Magic in 1990 image

On Valentine's Day in 1990, Michael Jordan wore a nameless No. 12 jersey.

For 1,054 of his 1,070 regular-season games, Jordan - one of the greatest players in NBA history - made the No. 23 famous. Courtesy of 'The Last Dance', even his brief stint with No. 45 became famous and known to all.

But what about No. 12?

It all happened on Feb. 14 in 1990 in Orlando in the finale of the Bulls' six-game road trip. Chicago entered the game with a record of 29-19, having lost four of their last five.

NBA superstar Michael Jordan was forced to wear a nameless No. 12 jersey, after his No. 23 jersey went missing after the team at the arena a few hours earlier. Want to know what happened? The Orlando Magic, themselves, spilled the beans:

Considering his greatness, a change in his jersey number was not going to impact Michael Jordan's game. Although he dropped a game-high 49 points (21-43 FGs), it was the Orlando Magic that came out on top 134-129.
