Fight fans have already seen some great contests this year featuring top-tier competitors. Now, Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford will continue that trend when they face off for the status of undisputed welterweight champion on July 29.

The fight airs on Showtime PPV in the U.S. and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

We've already had Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron. But in terms of historical significance, this one stands alone, and Spence understands just how big this showdown is.

“This fight does a lot for the sport of boxing,” said Spence, who will be defending the IBF, WBA, and WBC titles. “I hope a lot of the best fighters are ready to face each other. This is an old-school fight with the two best fighters in the world. It’s rare that you get that. We’re two old-school fighters who are going to go in there and give it their all.”

Crawford, the WBO welterweight champion, was already crowned undisputed when he became king of the super lightweight division in 2017. The WBO champ at 147 pounds since 2018, “Bud” is on a 10-fight knockout streak dating back to 2016. If he wins, Crawford will become a two-time undisputed champion, silencing any doubters who have downgraded his accomplishments.

“This fight puts a stamp on everything that I’ve accomplished in this sport,” said Crawford. “People have tried to discredit me for this and that and have been calling for this fight. This solidifies everything. This is the fight that boxing needs.”

Both are undefeated and ready to put on a show for the ages.
