One of the most accomplished fighters in the lightweight division is ready to face one of the most talented fighters of the new generation. With gold on the line, who will walk out of Las Vegas as the undisputed lightweight champion on May 20?
Devin Haney, 24, defends his status as the undisputed champion against 35-year-old Vasiliy Lomachenko. The fight is inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena and airs on ESPN+ PPV.
Haney is a gifted boxer, beating the likes of Jorge Linares, Joseph Diaz Jr., and George Kambosos Jr. with a surgical-like approach in the ring. 'The Dream' started boxing at seven and has become a complete boxer at such a young age.
Lomachenko fought for a world title in his second pro fight and won gold in his third bout. 'The Matrix' and Haney are similar in their styles, cutting off the ring and striking if the moment is just right.

“We never know what will happen. We can prepare for one strategy, but in the ring it can all change,” Lomachenko said. “Right now, I don’t know. I just train hard and prepare.
Haney is training in thinking Lomachenko will do anything and everything to win back lightweight gold.
“He (Lomachenko) has experience and ring generalship,” said Haney. “I know he’s training for a dirty fight. He wants to get in and get as dirty as possible in the clinch. That’s what I’ve heard that he’s training for. We’re just preparing for whatever he brings to the table. We know the type of fight that he wants.”
