Sindhu is likely to face China’s He Bing Jiao in the Round of 16 of the tournament if both make it. Jiao is currently seeded at Number 6 and Sindu at 10.
Looking at the men’s section in badminton, India’s HS Prannoy has also been placed in a fairly easy group and is expected to make it through comfortably to the knockouts.He has been drawn in a group consisting of Vietnamese shuttler Le Duo Phat and Germany’s Fabian Roth. HS Prannoy is currently seeded at the 13th position in world rankings.
However things aren’t looking so good for the unseeded Lakshya Sen. Sen, who is currently unseeded, has been placed in a group consisting of the World Number 3, Jonathan Christie. Christie has been somewhat proved as a kryptonite to Sen, defeating the Indian four times in five meetings.
