Nate McMillan is the Atlanta Hawks interim head coach no more.

Numerous reports have confirmed that Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk announced that the team reached an agreement with McMillan to shed the interim label, making him the full-time head coach through the 2025-26 season.

McMillan, who led the Hawks to a 27-11 record after taking over on March 1, helped the franchise end a four-year postseason drought as it earned the Eastern Conference's fifth seed with a 41-31 record.

In the playoffs, Atlanta eliminated the New York Knicks in the opening round before defeating the top-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in seven games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Under McMillan's leadership, the Hawks advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals for just the second time since moving to Atlanta. There, the team earned their first-ever wins in the round, coming two wins shy of the NBA Finals.

As Atlanta enters an offseason of questions, it no longer has any uncertainty surrounding who will be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

With a young core that features Trae Young, John Collins, De'Andre Hunter, Kevin Huerter, Onyeka Okongwu and Cam Reddish, McMillan's leadership will be looked upon to continue to take the franchise to new heights in the coming seasons.
