Indian Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra will take part in the FBK Games 2023, to be held on June 4 in the Netherlands, to prepare himself for the World Athletics Championships and the Asian Games which will take place this year.
The FBK Games are held every year in the Netherlands at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Stadium in Hengelo and it will be Chopra's second javelin throw event this season.
Earlier this month, he began his defence of the Diamond League Crown by winning gold medal at the 2023 Doha Diamond League. The 25-year-old hurdled the spear to 88.67m on May 5 to beat the field and record the best throw of the season.

"Today was challenging for all athletes, but I'm still satisfied with my result. It was a good start and it's a great atmosphere. Lot of people came to support me and they are really happy," remarked Chopra on his gold medal victory in Doha.
The javelin specialist will be looking to also defend his title at the Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou, China in September. All these events will eventually build up to next year's Olympics in Paris, where Chopra will be hoping to replicate and improve upon his heroics from 2020 Tokyo.
"For this season I plan to stay fit and do more than I can," said Chopra. "Sometimes it's really hard because we have have big country and people hope for me, and now more athletes of people from my country have joined me in the Diamond League and other competitions. I'm lucky people have faith in me," said the 2020 Olympics gold medalist.
