Indian long jumper Murali Sreeshankar booked his berth in the Paris Olympics 2024 as he won the silver at the Asian Athletics Championship on Saturday with a jump of 8.37m.
Sreeshankar has been in sublime form since the beginning of this year finishing six times in the top three including a third-place finish in the Paris leg of the Diamond League.

The 8.37m jump on Saturday was his second-best performance this year after he achieved the 8.41m mark at the Inter-State Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar in June.
Yu Tang Lin of Chinese Taipei won the gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championship on Saturday.
The Indian long jumper will now take part in the upcoming Asian Games 2022 which will be held in Hangzhou, China in September and October.
How did Murali Sreeshankar perform at Tokyo Olympics 2020?
Sreeshankar qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a national record jump of 8.26m in 2021. Unfortunately, he couldn't replicate his performance in Tokyo as he was eliminated from the qualifying round after a jump of 7.69m.
