India's Abdulla Aboobacker won the bronze medal in the men's triple jump event at the Montreuil Athletics Meet 2023 in France on Wednesday.
The Indian triple-jumper recorded a leap of 16.80m to confirm a third-place finish. His personal best is 17.19m which he recorded in Bhubaneshwar last year. The national record belongs to Praveen Chithravel who registered a 17.37m leap in Cuba this year.

Abdulla's first jump was 16.42m after which he fouled twice before finally registering his best jump of 16.80 which won him the Bronze medal.

Burkina Faso's Hugues Fabrice Zango bagged the gold medal with a leap of 17.29m while Algeria’s Yasser Triki won the silver with a jump of 17.01m.
What next for Abdulla Aboobacker?
Aboobacker, who won the silver medal in men's triple jump at the Commonwealth Games last year, will be next seen in action at the Florence Diamond League on June 2.
