India's star javelin thrower and 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra will take part in the 2023 Diamond League as defending champion. He won the Diamond League final last year in Zurich.

Chopra will be accompanied by fellow India Eldhose Paul will take part in the triple jump event. The first leg of the Diamond League will take place at the Qatar Sports Club in Doha.
Which Indians are participating in the 2023 Diamond League?
- Neeraj Chopra: India's 'Golden Boy' Neeraj Chopra will participate in the javelin throw event. Chopra won the Diamond League final in Zurich last year. The Olympic gold medalist will face competition from reigning world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada and Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic. Chopra, who consistently finished on the podium in various events last year, is eyeing to breach the 90-m mark in 2023.
- Eldhose Paul: The 26-year-old Indian athlete competes in the triple jump event. Last year, Paul reached several milestones which include becoming the first Indian to qualify for the final of triple jump at the World Athletics Championship and winning the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.The Indian will face tough competition from Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Pedro Pichardo of Portugal, reigning Diamond League champion Andy Diaz Hernandez of Cuba and two-time Olympic gold winner (2012, 2016) and five-time world champion Christian Taylor of USA.

All you need to know about the Diamond League
The Diamond League is an annual series of top-tier track and field competitions of the World Athletics.
The first leg of the 2023 edition of the competition is being held in Doha, Qatar. The two-day Diamond League final will be held on September 16 and 17 in Eugene.
Points are assigned to athletes on the basis of their performances in each legs and then the top eight athletes from each event make it to the final.
This will be the 14th edition o the competition and the inaugural edition of the Diamond League was held in 2010.
