B Dhiraj and Simranjeet Kaur performed brilliantly in recurve qualifications in difficult conditions at the Archery World Cup stage 2 in Shanghai.
Dhiraj scored 656 points to finish top among Indian archers but 13th overall. Meanwhile, Olympian Atanu Das, finished 44th after he managed to hit 644.
Whereas, Neeraj Chauhan (638, 47th) and Tarundeep Rai (631, 57th) were the other Indian male archers in contention but were their performance was hampered by torrential rains that lashed Shanghai on Wednesday.

In the women's category, Simranjeet scored 648 to claim the eighth position while teenager Bhajan Kaur finished in 17th place with 638.
Their dominant performances helped the women's team finish fourth in the seedings with 1916 points and hence will receive a first-round bye and advance to the pre-quarterfinals.
In compound, the mixed team comprising, Ojas Deotale and Jyothi Surekha, who previously won the World Cup Stage 1, occupied the fifth spot with 1304 points.
Whereas the Indian men's team which had Ojas Deotale, Rishabh Yadav, and Prathamesh Jawkar beat Indonesia 236-228 but lost to Mexico (231-234) and will not go ahead in the medal matches.
Meanwhile, India's women's team, consisting of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami, and Avneet Kaur lost to Turkey 228-231 in the quarterfinals of the compound teams event.
