Indian sprinter Amlan Borgohain won gold medals in the 100m and 200m races at the Antwerp Athletics meet.
In the men's 100m race, Borgohain clocked 10.70s, which is 0.45s short of his current national record. Yet he emerged as the fastest man in the race to bag the gold medal.
The Indian was followed by Jamaica's Aubrey Allen who won the silver with a timing of 10.80. Belgium’s Victor Hofmans finished third clocking a timing of 11.01s.
In the 200m category, Borgohain clocked 20.96s to finish first. Hofman's, who bagged the bronze in the 100m category, finished second in the 200m behind the Indian and Jamaican sprinter Samuel Rowe finished third with a timing of 21.88s.
In other events, India's Sapna Kumar finished behind Belgium’s Amber Vanden Bosch in the women’s 100m hurdles in what was a two-woman field. Kumar clocked 14.10s.
In the men's 800m category, Mohammed Afsal P failed to complete his race.
