WWE will bring a pay-per-view to London for the first time in two decades, with the annual Money In The Bank event confirmed for the O2 Arena in July.
After the overwhelming success of the first-ever Clash At The Castle event in Cardiff last year, WWE officials were keen to return to the UK as soon as possible for a major show.
The pay-per-view broke numerous records, including becoming the most-watched international show in WWE history, with the largest European gate ever and the best-selling merchandise for a non-WrestleMania event.
Money In The Bank is one of the company's biggest shows of the year, with superstars from both Raw and SmackDown vying to earn a shot at a world title in two massive ladder matches.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 1st in London and will be broadcast on Peacock in the US, Foxtel in Australia and WWE Network everywhere else.
“The O2 is one of the world’s premier venues and the perfect home for Money In The Bank," Dan Ventrelle, EVP, Talent at WWE.
"We are excited to bring one of our ‘Big 5’ events to the UK and look forward to welcoming the WWE Universe to London on July 1."
The O2 Arena can hold approximately 20,000 fans and has been the home to numerous concerts and boxing events.
Insurrextion was the last time a WWE pay-per-view was held in England, and with the likes of Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and Becky Lynch on the card, it promises to be a historic night for the company.
“We are honoured to be hosting the first ever Money In The Bank event taking place in the UK here at The O2,” said Christian D'Acuña, Senior Programming Director at The O2.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming back WWE fans to The O2 this summer for an unforgettable night with some of WWE’s biggest Superstars.”
With a busy schedule in the coming months for WWE, including the Royal Rumble in January and WrestleMania in early-April, this latest announcement will give UK fans something else to look forward to.
