It looks like WWE may soon have a new overseas partner.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE has been talking to New Japan Pro Wrestling about a working relationship and partnership.
"Nick Khan has been in talks with New Japan Pro Wrestling about WWE being the exclusive American partner with the promotion," Meltzer wrote.
NJPW has established relationships with AEW and Impact Wrestling. But if they agree to a deal with WWE — the talks reportedly date to late March/early April — that could open up opportunities for WWE to expand its audience.

Of course, provisions of any deal would require some WWE stars working in NJPW, which could expand the brand's global audience.
"It would include WWE sending talent and top stars being allowed to work in NJPW if talks go anywhere," Meltzer wrote.
As Meltzer noted, Khan's efforts in these talks show a departure from the "former isolationist attitude of WWE vs. everyone" that used to dominate the wrestling league. Instead, WWE appears to be willing to work with outside organizations, much like its competitors AEW and Impact have done.
We'll see whether anything comes of these talks. Right now, there's "no indication" of the status, but this news has to be exciting for WWE fans as the league looks to broaden its horizons.
