The second half of the 2023 WNBA regular season is in full swing, and the playoff push will be fun to watch over the next two months. Fans and bettors alike will be watching to see if the Aces can finish the best record in the league after going 19-2 in the first half and capture their second-straight WNBA title.
Before the regular season began, the Aces (+130) and Liberty (+150) were the favorites to win the WNBA title this year. However, Las Vegas has separated itself from the pack and is a -350 favorite as we end July. New York will still be there in the end, despite having an 18-6 record. They are still a great team led by MVP frontrunner Breanna Stewart, and they have the pieces to make a deep playoff run.
In addition to the Liberty, the public is also placing wagers on the Sun and the Mystics, who are two veteran-led teams that could deny one of the favorites a trip to the WNBA Finals. Below, we'll look at the updated betting odds for the 2023 WNBA Finals and BetMGM's insights on how the public is wagering on the action as we look ahead to the postseason.

The Aces' odds to win the WNBA title opened up at +130 before the regular season and now sit at -350, giving bettors little to no value in the futures market. Las Vegas has been the best team in the league and have 22 wins to show for it. The Aces have lost just twice this season, which came on the road against the Sun and Wings. Outside of those two losses, Las Vegas has handled its business and have been excellent at home with a perfect 11-0 record.
Becky Hammon's crew has four players scoring in double figures, including last season's MVP A'ja Wilson, who is averaging 20.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. The Aces lead the league in scoring (94.1 points per game) and are second in points per game allowed (78.7). Las Vegas is also ranked second in pace (80.8), and it can shoot the lights out from three-point range (37.6 percent). If the Aces do not win the WNBA title this year, it would be a monumental upset, as they don't have many flaws. It seems as if the only thing that can stop this team is injuries.
That said, bettors might want to jump on the Liberty to win the WNBA title (+300) given their odds, especially with the torrid pace that the Aces are on. New York is in a tough battle with Connecticut to hold onto the No. 2 seed, but when the Liberty are locked in, they are tough to beat. The Liberty's defense isn't on the same level as the Aces, but they can score with them, averaging 88.7 points per game.
New York does a great job from the perimeter, shooting 38.3 percent from three-point range and sharing the basketball, producing 24.5 assists per game. The Liberty still have three more meetings against the Aces to close the gap, but until then, they must continue to defeat the teams in front of them. With the talent that they added in the offseason, opposing teams will give the Liberty their best shot. If New York passes those tests in the regular, it will be playing in the WNBA Finals against the Aces.

Despite the Aces being the overwhelming favorites to win the WNBA Finals this season, it's the Sun that they are getting the most tickets from bettors for the championship. Connecticut has the third-best odds to win the Finals this season (+2800), but they are a long shot behind the Liberty and Aces. The Sun are receiving 17.7 percent of the tickets and are one of BetMGM's biggest liabilities.
The Sun might not have the star power that the Aces or Liberty have, but they are an excellent defensive team (78.6 points per game allowed) and have two All-Stars in Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner. Thomas is a do-it-all forward, while Bonner leads the team in scoring with 18.8 points per game. It's not hard to see why bettors have wagered on the Sun, as they have already beaten the Aces once this season.
After Connecticut, Las Vegas has the second-highest ticket (16.9) and the highest handle (55.7) percentage to win the WNBA Finals. The Aces are on a mission to win back-to-back titles this year, which hasn't happened since the 2001 and '02 seasons by the Sparks. Las Vegas is currently without future Hall-of-Fame forward Candace Parker, who underwent surgery for a left foot fracture. There's no timetable on when she will return, but if the Aces can continue to hold down the fort until she comes back, it will show again why they are the best team in the league.
