Monday was a rough night at the office for Caitlin Clark and the Fever.

Indiana has no answer for the dominant Connecticut squad, as the Sun gave it to the Fever to the tune of 89-72. Clark struggled herself, securing just 10 points while shooting under 50 percent from the field and 3-point range.

That can't be said of Sun standout DiJonai Carrington. The Connecticut guard shot 7-of-11 from the field, leading all players with 22 points scored. Carrington also added six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the winning effort.

While Carrington did her damage on the scoreboard, she also briefly got into it with Clark, mocking the rookie during Indiana's struggles.

During the Sun-Fever WNBA game on Monday, Carrington gave Clark her two cents on the body motion of the Fever rookie.

In the second quarter, Clark took an inbounds pass and immediately found Carrington on her. The No. 1 pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft elected to try and cut by the Sun veteran, who stood her ground. Clark bounced off Carrington enough that it was ruled a foul on the Connecticut guard.

Carrington didn't seem to agree with the call. She flailed her arms and shoulders back, mimicking a flopping motion — insinuating that Clark embellished the contact to receive the call.

Clark's body language did not seem to dictate she was looking for the call. It appeared like a normal play where physical contact is involved. Nonetheless, Carrington wasn't thrilled with the assessment of the play.

Despite Clark sinking both free throws, Carrington and the Sun got the last laugh. Connecticut improved to 10-1 on the season with the win and dropped Indiana to 3-10 in the process. To make matters worse for Clark, Carrington also stripped her to end the first half, taking it in for a buzzer-beating layup.

It's the third win for the Sun over the Fever this season. The two met in Clark's WNBA debut, a 92-71 blowout win for Connecticut. A week later, the Sun edged out the Fever 88-84.
