Fresh off her second WNBA Finals MVP award, Aces superstar A'ja Wilson made a statement by arriving at her team's media day with platinum silver hair. So all promotional content featuring Wilson's most recent headshot will include the silver locks.

Why A'ja Wilson has silver hair in headshot

Wilson went with silver hair on media day to match the Aces' new branding. Amid the media day frenzy, Wilson explained to KVVU's Paloma Villicana.

"When I found out the Aces — obviously we lost the red a little bit, we went back to silver and black — I was like, 'Why not do platinum silver hair?'" Wilson said.

"That's what it's all about — rebranding. So, we're here now with silver hair. I don't know how long she will stay but I'm definitely having just a little fun with it."

After going with silver for media day, Wilson switched her hair color back up as the Aces returned to the practice floor before a busy week that included a stop at the White House, a preseason game at her alma mater and Nike's announcement of her signature shoe, the A'One.

As the 2024 season goes on, let Wilson's headshot serve as a reminder that one of the game's brightest superstars is also one of the game's best personalities.

Las Vegas Aces new colors and uniforms, explained

The Aces' "new" look for the 2024 season is both a blast from the past and an ode to their neighbors, the Las Vegas Raiders.

As Mark Davis is the principal owner of both franchises, he had a hand in the decision to change the Aces' colors to a silver and black scheme that matches the Raiders' iconic look.

The Aces predominantly sported a black and red look during their first six seasons in Vegas and will hold on to that identity in 2024 with an alternate "Rebel Edition" uniform.

Before the move to Las Vegas, the Aces were known as the San Antonio Stars, a team that wore black and silver in alignment with the San Antonio Spurs. Wilson's mention of the franchise going "back" to that color scheme alludes to the franchise's time in Texas.
