Jeremy Kennedy (11-0) has withdrawn from 'UFC Fight Night', which was set to take place on Nov. 18 in Sydney, Australia.

Kennedy announced on his Instagram account that he is currently rehabbing a neck injury and the hope is that he will "be back before the end of the year."

The Surrey, B.C., native was set to face Alexander Volkanovski (15-1) in a lightweight bout. Kennedy, who has won his last three fights since he joined the UFC, will now shift his focus on a return by the end of the year. While the UFC has roughly 11 events remaining on its schedule — six after the event in Sydney — it's possible that fans will see 'JBC' make his return on Dec. 16 at 'UFC on Fox 26' in Winnipeg.

As for Volkanovski, Kennedy's original opponent, he remains on the card. Volkanovski will now face Humberto Bandenay (14-4).

Elias Theodorou remains the sole Canadian on the fight card in Sydney. The Mississauga, Ont., native will take on Daniel Kelly.
