Monzul will be the woman in the middle when England and Germany take to the field on Sunday, July 31 at Wembley with this the 41-year-old's fourth Women's EURO Championship.
She becomes the first Ukrainian to referee a Women’s EURO final and has already taken charge of three matches at this year's tournament – Spain's 4-1 win against Finland on Matchday 1 in Group B, Austria’s 1-0 defeat of Norway in the final round of Group A games and Sweden’s 1-0 quarter-final win against Belgium.
As well as having three World Cups under her belt, Monzul has refereed several high-profile matches including the 2014 UEFA Women's Champions League final between Tyresö and Wolfsburg in Lisbon. Monzul has also refereed matches in the Ukrainian men's Premier League – the first female official to do so – and has been assigned to matches in the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Nations League.
Sunday's match will mark the end of a fantastic tournament and a difficult few months for Monzul who was forced to flee her country earlier this year amid Russia's invasion. Along with her two sisters and their three children she left the city of Kharkiv and eventually settled in Italy in order to continue her refereeing career.

Is this the first time VAR has been used at a Women's Euros?
This is the first time video assistant referees are being used at all matches in a Women's Euros final tournament.
However, VAR has been used in the women's game before, notably in the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. Controversially, Scotland were knocked out of the tournament by Argentina because of a VAR decision: goalkeeper Lee Alexander was judged to have moved off her line ahead of making a penalty save.
