Toronto Raptors move to 15-4 with blowout win over the Atlanta Hawks on the night Vince Carter cracks 25,000 points image

The Raptors have now made it three in a row after beating the Atlanta Hawks 124-108. Kyle Lowry, Jonas Valanciunas, Pascal Siakam and Serge Ibaka all stepped up with Kawhi Leonard sitting out due to rest.

The Raptors move to 15-4 atop the eastern conference.

Vince Carter finished with 14 points cracking the 25K points mark for his career against the team he scored his first basket with.

4th Quarter

End of game — Raptors win 124-108. Lowry with triple-double 21/12/17, Pascal Siakam with 22 points, Serge off the bench with 19 points and nine rebounds and JV with a season-high 24 points, 13 rebounds. 

Vince Carter finished with 14 points to pass 25K for his career.

9:56 p.m. — And Vince gets it with a dunk! How fitting! Vince Lamar Carter 25K plus points in his NBA career against...the Raptors.


9:54 p.m. — Carter gets fouled shooting a three and will get three freethrows to get 25k...but after a referee review it's called a two point shot. VC knocks down both freethrows and he's one point away.

9:52 p.m. —  Raptors lead 124-104, Hawks call timeout with 39.8 seconds left probably to call a play for Vince to get one last look at 25K.

9:50 p.m. — Vince Carter hits a three now three points shy of 25K.


9:49 p.m. — Extended garbage time now as Vince Carter checks back in with 2:28 left and six points shy of 25K.

9:39 p.m. — Small run by the Hawks as they refuse to go out quietly. Taurean Prince with a corner three to make it 105-90 Raptors with 5:32 left in the game.


9:32 p.m. — Great ball movement from the Raptors leads to a dead-eye Danny Green three to put Toronto up by 20 points — their largest lead of the game. (100-80 Raps)

3rd Quarter

End of quarter — Raptors have led by as much as 17 and enjoy a comfortable 13 point lead at the end of three. JV a point shy from his season-high in points with 22 and 13 rebounds. Lowry has a triple-double with 21,11,15 and Pascal Siakam has 17 points. 46 of Toronto's 86 have come in the paint.

Vince Carter is still just six points away from 25k for his career. Currently with 7 points with a quarter to play.

9:13 p.m . — Kyle Lowry pulls down his 10th rebound to get his 13th career triple-double, first of the season. 20 points, 14 assists, 11 rebounds and counting.


9:08 p.m. — Danny Green is finally on the board with a corner triple after going 0-for-6 to start the game. Another dime by Lowry who now has 13 assists. Raptors controlling the pace and the game up 77-64.

8:59 p.m. — Vince Carter knocks down a three! He's now just six points away from 25k! Raps lead 67-55.


8:57 p.m. — Lowry dribbles into the paint finds JV with a beautiful bounce pass. Lowry's 11th assists, Jonas' 21st point. Raptors up 67-50.


2nd Quarter

Halftime — The Raptors take an 11 point lead into halftime. JV leads the way with a double-double of 17 and 10. Lowry is flirting with a triple-double with 13 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds. Jeremy Lin leads the way for the Hawks with a team-high 13 points and Vince Carter is now nine points away from 25k for his career.


8:31 p.m . — JV is flat out hooping right now. He has 17 points, nine rebounds as the Raptors lead 55-42. Jonas averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds in 23 minutes in four games against the Hawks last season. His season high point total this year is 23 — he's closing in on that tonight.

8:22 p.m. — Kyle Lowry finds a cutting Serge Ibaka for his eighth assist of the night. Ibaka now with 8 points...timeout Atlanta. Raptors lead by 10 (44-34).

8:16 p.m. — Second period and a Greg Monroe sighting! Monroe follows his miss and finishing inside to put the Raps up 31-24.

1st Quarter

End of quarter — Raptors built a 15-point lead but the Hawks closed the period on a 10-run...Raptors up 29-24.


 

7:57 p.m. — Vince Carter gets his first two points of the night on a layup. Raps up 19-8.

7:52 p.m. — Bazemore deletes the Siakam layup attempt.


7:40 p.m . — It took a while but Kyle Lowry finally broke the ice with a two-point jumper 8:46 to go in the first quarter. Then he followed up with a trey giving the Raptors a quick early 5-0 lead.

7:08 p.m. — The Hawks roll out with Young, Bazemore, Prince, Collins and Dedmon.


6:22 p.m . — Raptors starting five without Kawhi. (Lowry, Van Vleet, Green, Siakam, Valanciunas)


6:20 p.m. — VC will be mic'd up on the Hawks telecast for his game against the Raps. He's 13 points (24,987) away from 25K career points.
