Toronto Raptors fans across the world will finally be able to see Kawhi Leonard with the team in late September when training camp opens, but for now, they'll take any sort of Leonard related news they can get.

Raptors' assistant coach Phil Handy provided an update on Leonard's offseason workouts on the Toronto Talk Sports podcast, and its an encouraging one.

"He's doing great," Handy said on the podcast via TheScore. "He's in great shape. Body looks good, he's feeling good, he's moving well.

"I don't anticipate any issues or any problems. He's working hard and he's a hard worker.

"He is a gamer. Players like that just want to compete. ... However (his situation with the San Antonio Spurs) played out, however it happened, he's just looking forward to what's next and what's in front of him right now and (putting) his best foot forward for the Raptors organization this season."

It won't be long now before the preseason opens up, and from Handy's account, Raptors' fans can expect Leonard to be in great shape for the start of the season after playing only nine games last year.

The preseason opens on September 29th in Vancouver against the Portland Trail Blazers.
