According to an official release from the team, Siakam sustained the injury in the Raptors' 10-point loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on May 8, which would end up being the one-time All-Star's final appearance of the season.
While Siakam is expected to make a full recovery, the team's official announcement states that the expected recovery and rehabilitation time is approximately five months. Expect appropriate updates to be provided as they surface.
As reports have indicated that the NBA is targeting mid-to-late October for the start of the 2021-22 season, a five-month recovery period could leave Siakam sidelined for the first month of the upcoming season.
The shoulder injury wraps a season of ups and downs for Siakam, who, despite some struggles, finished the season with averages of 21.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 points over 56 games.
This past season, the Raptors posted a 6-10 record when Siakam was sidelined, though he was often out in addition to a number of other starters.
