The NBA announced the all-rookie first and second teams on Tuesday afternoon with two noticeable omissions from the list.

Toronto Raptors rookie OG Anunoby and Memphis Grizzlies standout Dillon Brooks did not make the exclusive list of 10.


Anunoby who appeared in 74 games starting 62 of them finished 13th in the voting. He received two first-team votes.

The Raptors' 23rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft average 5.9 points, 2.5 rebounds in 20.0 minutes per game. He evolved into Toronto's primary defensive stopper throughout the year and improved his three-point shooting well enough to finish in the top ten for rookies at 37%.


Mississauga native Brooks was the only rookie to appear in all 82 games starting 74 of them for the Grizzlies. 

After starting the season slowly surrounded by a quick coaching change and other lockerroom drama in Memphis - he leaped over the rookie wall seeing his averages jump up in almost every category post all-star break.

In the 26 games after the break, Brooks averaged 15.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals becoming one of the few bright spots for the Grizzlies who went just 4-22 in those games.



Brooks finished 15th in the voting receiving one first-team vote.
