The NBA award finalists were announced on Wednesday night and Dwane Casey was announced as one of the three finalists for the Coach of the Year award.
Casey headlines a list that includes Boston Celtics' coach Brad Stevens and Utah Jazz's Quin Snyder.
Before losing his job, Casey guided the Raptors to a 59-23 record - a franchise high in wins. It also marked the first time Toronto earned the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.

Casey was named the 2018 recipient of the Michael H. Goldberg NBCA Coach of the Year Award earlier this month.
While Casey has a great case for taking home the award he'll be in tough as both Stevens and Snyder overcame injuries to key players like Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert to have extraordinary seasons for the Celtics and Jazz respectively.
If Casey wins the award he'll become the second coach in Raptors history to take home the honour. Sam Mitchell won in 2007 after guiding the Raptors to a 47–35 record and their first-ever Atlantic division title with a team that featured Chris Bosh and Jose Calderon.
The winners of each award will be revealed on June 25 at the NBA Awards show in Los Angeles.
