When Novak Djokovic was drawn against 19-year-old Briton Jack Draper at Wimbledon 2021, there was little expectation that the schedule had produced a match to trouble the man who would win his third Grand Slam of the year.

As it turned out, Draper was the only player except Matteo Berrettini in the final to move ahead against Djokovic at the championships in 2022, winning the opening set to become the only player at the tournament to take a set from the world number one.

Two-time champion Andy Murray's opener also testified to the potential for the draw to create drama: the British sporting icon was an underdog on paper against 24th seed Nikoloz Basilashvili but won with reasonable ease in four sets to thrill the home fans.

With Rafael Nadal returning and Djokovic targeting a first major title of the year, when will we find out who's playing who at Wimbledon 2022?

When is the draw for Wimbledon 2022?

The draw for the championships will take place on June 24 at 10 a.m. BST (5 a.m. ET) — three days before the main action begins at the All England Club.

That is when the likes of women's number one Iga Swiatek, tennis great Serena Williams and the men's singles and doubles entrants will discover who they will face and which half of the draw they are in.

Being drawn in a half containing fewer top players can prove crucial to competitors' chances of success, allowing them to avoid early collisions with seeded rivals.

The qualifying singles began a week before the start of the main tournament, and some of the competitions have later draw dates because they start later.

The boys' and girls' singles competition draws are made on June 30, with the draws for the wheelchair competitions made on July 4 and 5.

What is the Wimbledon schedule in 2022?

Wimbledon will become a 14-day competition for the first time in 2022, organisers have announced.

The middle Sunday of the competition, which has always been used as a rest day to work on the condition of the courts, will now host play because planners are confident that the quality of the surfaces will not be affected by the move.

Here's how the schedule for the men's and women's single competitions looks at Wimbledon 2022.

Day Schedule
27-28 June First round
29-30 June Second round
1-2 July Third round
3-4 July Fourth round
5-6 July Quarterfinals
7 July Women's semifinals
8 July Men's semifinals
9 July Women's final
10 July Men's final
