The 2018 U.S. Open tennis championships begin Monday, Aug. 27, at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
The oddsmakers in Las Vegas have posted their betting favorites for the men's and women's singles draws. Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic is the favorite in the men's draw at 12/5 (bettors would win $12 for every $5 they wager), while defending U.S. Open champion Rafael Nadal is second at 3/1. Other notable players and their odds: Roger Federer (5/1), Juan Martin Del Potro (12/1) and Andy Murray (33/1).

On the women's side, it's no surprise that Serena Williams (9/2) is the favorite to win her seventh U.S. Open title and her first since 2014. Defending champion Sloane Stephens has the fourth-best odds at 10/1. Other players and their odds: French Open champion Simona Halep (11/2), Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber (15/2) and Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki (25/1).
