The U.S. Open kicks off on Monday with four Canadian men hitting the courts in their first-round matchups. Genie Bouchard, the lone Canadian woman, and Peter Polansky begin their tournament run on Tuesday.
Milos Raonic, the highest seed at No. 25, faces lucky loser Carlos Berlocq of Argentina at 11 a.m. The Thornhill, Ont. native was originally scheduled to play American Jared Donaldson, but he withdrew with a knee injury.
Denis Shapovalov, the 28th seed, will take on countryman - and good friend - Felix Auger-Aliassime, not before 5 p.m., on the Grandstand. Last year, Shapovalov was forced to go through the tournament's qualifiers to advance into the main draw. This year it was Auger-Aliassime's turn.
Vasek Pospisil will face Slovakia's Lukas Lacko. Unfortunately for the winner of that match, they'll most likely face Rafael Nadal in the second round.
Polansky is one lucky loser. Despite losing in the finals of qualifying, Polansky was awarded a spot in the main draw - for the fourth straight Grand Slam. He'll face the fourth-seed Alexander Zverev of Germany on the second day of the tournament.

Formerly ranked fifth in the world, Bouchard will be looking to make a run at the Open.
She breezed through qualifying, only dropping seven games, to advance in her sixth career trip to Flushing, Queens. Bouchard's first-round opponent, Harmony Tan, earned a wildcard via the French Tennis Federation. A win over Tan, who will be playing in her first Grand Slam, and two possible upsets in the second and third round, could set Bouchard up with a matchup against number-two seed Caroline Wozniacki.
Shapovalov, teaming with Russia's Andrey Rublev, and Pospisil, with Spain's Fernando Verdasco, will also be playing doubles in the tournament.
