Queen's Club Championships 2019: Felix Auger-Aliassime advances to semis; Milos Raonic falls in quarters image

It was a busy Friday for the Canadians at the Queen's Club Championships in London with both Felix Auger-Aliassime and Milos Raonic in action in the quarterfinals.

Auger-Aliassime advanced to the semifinals for the third time in his last three tournaments after ousting No. 1-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2. For Raonic, things didn't go as well, as he fell in three sets to Feliciano Lopez, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(5).

The Montreal native Auger-Aliassime's first set was highly contested, as the 18-year-old found himself tied with Tsitsipas five different times. After Tsitsipas tied the first set at five, Auger-Aliassime rattled off two straight wins to take the set, 7-5.

The second set was far less competitive, as Auger-Aliassime jumped out to a 3-0 lead before running away with the set and match, 6-2.

Raonic started off his match on a strong foot after a 6-4 win to take the first set. He dropped the second set and then blew a match point in the third set up 6-5 as Lopez forced a tiebreaker to decide the match.

In the tiebreaker, Raonic fell into an early 3-1 hole but battled back to come within one point at 6-5. Unfortunately, Raonic could not stave off the match point and lost the third set, 7-6(5).

Had Raonic won, he would have moved on to face Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals. The two last met in the semifinals of the Stuttgart Open a few weeks ago, but Raonic withdrew before the match began due to injury.

Auger-Aliassime will now face Lopez in the semifinals as he tries to advance to his third consecutive tournament final this summer.
