Milos Raonic’s strong month continued on Tuesday as he defeated India’s Yuki Bhambri at Queens Club.
Raonic was ahead 6-1, 3-1 in the first-round grass-court matchup before Bhambri retired due to injury in the second set. The Thornhill, Ontario, native will face Spain’s Feliciano Lopez in the round of 16.

In another dominant showing on serve, Raonic had powered in 13 aces to Bhambri's zero prior to the conclusion of play. Raonic also put 83-percent of his first-serves in play, while winning on 88-percent of those points.
After a strong showing in the Mercedes Cup, Raonic lost to top-ranked Roger Federer in Stuttgart, Germany on Sunday in the tournament final.
Raonic is still searching for his first tour victory in 2018. He missed the French Open in May due to injury before his impressive run in Stuttgart.
Raonic’s performance in the Mercedes Cup bumped him four spots to No.31 in the latest rankings. After spending seven years as the top-ranked Canadian male up until May, when 19-year-old Denis Shapovalov passed Raonic in the ATP. A week prior, Shapovalov had defeated Raonic in the Madrid Open.
