Nick Kyrgios has come out on top in a wildly entertaining exhibition clash against Novak Djokovic, just days out from the Australian Open.

Last year's Wimbledon finalists have turned from foes to friends in the past year and sold out Rod Laver Arena on Friday night for a charity event

Kyrgios earned the 4-3 (5-3) 4-3 10-9 victory in crazy fashion, with the final descending into hilarious chaos as wheelchair players Heath Davidson and David Wagner joining in as doubles partners.

There were under-arm serves, plenty of sledges and even the 21-time grand slam winner forgetting the 'Fast Four' rules for the match.

Djokovic came into the match under an injury cloud, with a troublesome hamstring potentially putting his return to Melbourne Park in doubt

But in a fantastic sign for the Serbian superstar, he got through the match without limitations and looks set to line up in the Australian Open when it begins on Monday.

Kyrgios on the other hand has had a quiet preparation for his home grand slam, withdrawing from recent warm-up tournaments and United Cup, citing a minor ankle concern

The 27-year-old is expected to be one of Australia's top hopes in the grand slam following a stellar 2022 campaign.
