It's been a while since we've seen the Genie Bouchard that made the 2014 Wimbledon final.
Currently ranked 111th in the world, Bouchard has fallen far from her No. 7 ranking from four years ago. Her struggles in 2017 carried into this calendar year, with the Montreal native failing to last more than two rounds in any tournament outside of the Taiwan Open, where she made the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Yafan Wang in straight sets.
In need of a reset, Bouchard is making a change.

Bouchard's change of pace comes in the wake of her agent, John Tobias of TLA, parting ways with her. It was the fourth agency to represent the 24-year-old since the 2014 Wimbledon final and Bouchard revealed after the BNP Paribas Open that the severing of ties wasn't "by mutual agreement."
The biggest success Bouchard has seen this year was reaching a settlement for damages in her lawsuit against the U.S. Tennis Association at the end of February. While it was a significant victory for Bouchard, it's safe to say she'd prefer her victories on the tennis court to outweigh her wins in the U.S. District Court.
At her greatest heights, Bouchard was seen as the next tennis big shot. At her lowest, she's playing below tour level for a few months to "get the rhythm back."
