Denis Shapovalov's run at the 2018 BNP Paribas Open is over after two matches.
The Canadian teenager fell to Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas 7-6(4) 6-3, ending his tournament in the round of 64.
While Shapovalov had a healthy edge in aces (10-2), Cuevas won 55 percent of the total points and converted two of five break points. The 32-year-old Uruguayan had his younger opponent moving all over the court in vain.

Ranked 44th in the world, Shapovalov is still looking for his first appearance in a final this year. He lost to Frances Tiafoe in the semifinals of the Delray Beach Open last month and has made the round of 16 in two other tournaments so far in 2018.
