Montreal's Felix Auger-Aliassime secured his biggest professional victory on Wednesday afternoon, defeating South Korea's Hyeon Chung in their round of 16 match at the Chengdu Open.
It took just over two and a half hours for the 147th ranked Auger-Aliassime to upset the 23rd ranked Chung 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 in three sets. This was the 18-year-old Auger-Aliassime's first victory over a top 25 ranked player in his young career.

Auger-Aliassime started strong, taking the first set -- which lasted over an hour -- from Chung. In the second set, Auger-Aliassime cruised to an early 3-1 lead before his 22-year-old opponent stormed back to take the set 7-5.
Competing in his ninth ATP tournament this year, Auger-Aliassime put away the top-ranked Chung in the third set as he saved a break point at 4-3 and went on to win 6-4.
The Canadian teenager was helped by 11 aces compared to Chung's six, and saving five out of the eight break points he faced.
Auger-Aliassime will continue play Thursday as he faces 123rd ranked Bernad Tomic in a quarterfinal matchup.
Two other Canadian men were not as fortunate on Wednesday. The 31st ranked Denis Shapovalov lost in three sets to Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka in their round of 16 matchup at the Shenzhen Open and 86th ranked Vasek Pospisil lost to Portugal's seventh-ranked João Sousa in three sets.
