The 2021 Australian Open is here.
While there was some uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic — after all, the first Grand Slam of the year usually happens in January — things finally get going at Melbourne Park on Sunday night (Monday in Australia).
A total of nine Canadians will hit the hard courts Down Under, including the long-awaited return of 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu.
Here's everything you need to know about how to watch the Canadians competing in the 2021 Australian Open.
Which Canadian players are in the 2021 Australian Open?
Canada is well represented in 2021. Denis Shapovalov, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil will compete in men's singles. On the women's side, it'll be Leylah Annie Fernandez, Rebecca Marino and Andreescu.
Yes, Andreescu is back.
More than 15 months after she tore her meniscus at the WTA Finals in October 2019, the first-ever singles champion from Canada is ready for another title run. Despite missing all of 2020, the Mississauga, Ont., native is ranked and seeded eighth in Melbourne.

The tournament also marks the return of Marino, who last played in the main draw of a Grand Slam (Aussie Open) back in 2013. She stepped away from tennis at the age of 23 due to depression but decided to return to the sport in 2017 and powered her way through qualifying in Melbourne.
Fernandez, 18, burst onto the scene last year and is now ranked 89th in the world. The Aussie Open marks the Laval, Que., rising star's fourth main draw at a Grand Slam. (The three others were in 2020 and, reminder, Wimbledon was canceled.) In the first round, she'll have a tough one, meeting Elise Mertens, the 18th seed. Fernandez will also be competing in doubles, teaming up with Great Britain's Heather Watson.
Shapovalov, the highest-seeded Canadian on the men's side at 11, recently went all the way to the quarterfinals at tennis' other hard-court major, the 2020 US Open, and will be looking for a deep run in Australia. He does not kick off things easy, facing Jannik Sinner, who at 19 years old is the highest-ranked teenager (No. 36) on the ATP Tour.
The 21-year-old lefty from Richmond Hill, Ont., is also teaming up with fellow Canadian Pospisil in doubles; the duo went 2-for-4 at the 2019 Davis Cup (one loss was a walkover) with the two wins coming in elimination rounds. Pospisil, the reigning ATP Comeback Player of the Year, finished 2019 ranked 149th and is now No. 61 in the world. He has a tough Round of 164, too, as he'll see world No. 4 Daniil Medvedev.
Montrealer Auger-Aliassime, seeded 20th, enters the Aussie Open after a finals appearance at the tune-up event, the Murray River Open. He'll also be competing in doubles, pairing up with Poland's Hubert Hurkacz, with whom he won Paris. Raonic is seeded 14th and coming off two matches at the ATP Cup, his first competition since advancing to the semis in Paris three months ago.
Rounding out the Canadian contingent are doubles specialists Sharon Fichman and Gabriela Dabrowski. Fichman will be playing with Giuliana Olmos of Mexico and Dabrowski, the 10th-ranked women's doubles player in the world, is joining forces with American Bethanie Mattek-Sands. The duo is the sixth-seeded women's doubles team. Dabrowski is also playing mixed doubles with Croatia's Mate Pavic and the team is seeded third.
