Federico Redondo is set to join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami ahead of their new MLS campaign.
The 21-year-old is an Argentine international and is anticipated to step in as a replacement for Facundo Farias, who tore his ACL during a pre-season match against El Salvador in January.
While the deal is not yet 100% complete, The Athletic has reported that it is in the process of being finalised..

Who is Federico Redondo?
Federico is the son of former Real Madrid and AC Milan star Fernando Redondo and emerged from Argentinos Juniors' youth system before making his senior debut for the club in 2022.
During the 2022/23 season, he featured in 45 matches across all competitions, managing two goals and two assists.
According to transfers specialist Fabrizio Romano, the MLS club has completed the signing of Redondo from Argentinos Juniors for $8 million (£6.3m/€7.4m).

Redondo was previously heavily linked to Bayern Munich but will not be joining the German champions as they opted against submitting a formal bid during the January transfer window.
He is expected to secure one of the three U22 spots at the club, meaning only $200,000 of his salary will count towards the overall cap.

Inter Miami's first competitive fixture of the 2024 season is the club's MLS opener, as they host Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, February 21.
They will have three league fixtures before they open their 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup schedule, set for their Round of 16 first leg against either Nashville SC (USA) or Moca (Dominican Republic). It will be a two-legged matchup, with the first leg on the road.
