When is Brazil vs South Korea at World Cup? Date, time, early odds and history for Round of 16 match image

South Korea's dramatic victory over Portugal not only propelled them into the World Cup Round of 16 but sent a clear warning to next opponents Brazil.

Hwang Hee-chan's injury-time winner setup a clash with the tournament heavyweights, breaking Uruguayan hearts in brutal fashion in the process.

A much-rotated Brazil 11 were surprisingly beaten 1-0 by Cameroon in their final Group G match, as the favourites like most teams, failed to go into the knockout rounds unbeaten despite dominating the final match.

All eyes will be on Neymar's ankle in the build-up to their first knockout-stage match, with the forward's participation far from guaranteed.

Here's all the match details for the Round of 16 clash, including TV information, kickoff time, betting odds and historical meetings between the two nations.

Brazil vs South Korea history

This last-16 tie will be the first meeting of Brazil and South Korea at the World Cup. All six of their previous encounters were friendlies. They also played an exhibition game in the Nike World Tour back in 1997.

South Koreans won't want to dwell too long on their most recent encounter, just six months ago in Seoul. Brazil put on a show, blazing to a 5-1 victory via goals from Neymar (twice), Richarlison, Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus.

However, South Korea fondly remember one victory over the Selecao. Back in 1999, a side featuring Cafu, Rivaldo and Juninho were beaten 1-0 thanks to a Kim Do-Hoon strike in Seoul.

That is the Asians' only victory over Brazil.

Brazil in South Korea at 2002 World Cup

Although South Korea didn't take on Ronaldo and Co. at the 2002 World Cup, their team and their nation did played a huge role in Brazilian history.

South Korea shared hosting duties with Japan at that World Cup, and it is one that will live long in Brazilian memories.

Brazil emphatically won all their group games on South Korean soil, before storming through the knockout rounds in Japan.

Meanwhile, South Korea were knocking out some of Brazil's key rivals on the opposite side of the draw, albeit in controversial circumstances.

Portugal, Italy and Spain were knocked out, causing fury in the European press over claims the referees were seemingly working to assist the hosts.

Germany finally put a stop to South Korea's incredible run at the semifinal stage, but the Germans then fell to a Ronaldo double in the Yokohoma final.
