One of the teams in Sunday's CONCACAF Nations League third-place consolation match between Mexico and Panama was definitely not expecting to be there.

Mexico are still licking their wounds from a heavy 3-0 loss to the USA, which has shaken the team with reports that four players are planning on leaving camp after Sunday's bronze medal match and passing on the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament which follows.

The Mexican side is in the fourth month under new manager Diego Cocca, who is bringing on new tactical ideas while also introducing new players to the mix. There's clearly plenty of work to do and the upcoming Gold Cup should serve Cocca's group well.

No. 58-ranked Panama were similarly shut out in their semifinal against favorite Canada (2-0), and if not for a lack of sharpness under goal, the Canaleros could have potentially provided the Canadians a sterner test. If they find a way to beat Mexico, Panama would send El Tri into crisis mode.
