The 2024 Copa Libertadores will crown a 65th continental club champion this season as the famed CONMEBOL tournament returns to action in early February.

Running across the entirety of the calendar-year schedule, up to the final on November 30, the Copa Libertadores will pit clubs from across South America against one another in the hopes of achieving everlasting continental glory.

Last year's winners Fluminense did just that, winning their first-ever Copa Libertadores title in club history, and now have the arduous task of defending that crown. The back-to-back titles by Palmerias in 2020 and 2021 are the only consecutive winners of this competition since Boca Juniors in 2000 and 2001.

Fellow Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Flamengo will be considered the strongest challengers to the throne, while Argentine giants River Plate will look to win for the third time in the last decade.

Here's everything you need to know to watch and live-stream the tournament.

Copa Libertadores teams 2024

Forty-seven teams enter the 2024 Copa Libertadores, but only one can emerge with the trophy.

Last year's title winners Fluminense qualify automatically thanks to their status as defending champions, and good thing they do, because their seventh-place finish in last year's league table would not have been enough to see them in otherwise. Their addition makes it eight teams from Brazil who enter, far more than any other nation.

Argentina send six clubs into the mixer, and while last year's finalists River Plate enter as last year's league champions, giants Boca Juniors are not amongst the pack, as they finished just a point out of the qualifying spots in last year's domestic standings.
