Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham and the rest of the "Ted Lasso" cast made an appearance at Monday's White House press briefing, talking all things mental health — one of the central themes to their show.
Sudeikis fielded a number of questions from reporters — some real, others fake. He discussed his own understanding of the value of mental health care, highlighting some of his own psychological pitfalls over the course of his career.

“No matter who you are, no matter where you live, no matter who you voted for,” Sudeikis said, everyone knows someone or has been the person who has "has struggled, that’s felt isolated, that’s felt anxious, that has felt alone. And it’s actually one of the many things that — believe it or not — that we all have in common as human beings.”
It's a message that the show has embraced over the course of its three-season run. Season 3 is currently airing now on Apple TV+.

"The big theme of the show is to check in with your neighbor, your coworker, your friends, your family, and ask how they're doing and listen," Sudeikis said. "We also have to know that we shouldn't be afraid to ask for help ourselves and that does take a lot, especially when it's something that has such a negative stigma to it, such as mental health, and it doesn't need to be that way."

Sudeikis and Waddingham took the podium with a slew of other co-stars, including Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Toheeb Jimoh (Sam Obisanya) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard).
A surprise guest also made an appearance at the presser: actor James Lance, who plays "fake" soccer journalist Trent Crimm in the Emmy-award winning show. Lance put on his Crimm impression during the presser, looking like a real natural as he asked Sudeikis on his thoughts about Kansas City be selected as one of the host cities for the 2026 World Cup.

Sudeikis' response was thoughtful, but dripping with the sardonic humor he has come to be known for over the years.

"You know what? I'm very excited. Truth be told. Kansas City is gonna be one of these teams. I mean, I love this town," Sudeikis quipped. "What I am genuinely worried about is once we get all these folks from all over the world to come to Kansas City and see our city eat our food, meet our people, you're gonna have, you know, a lot of folks that will want to move away."

Next on the agenda for the cast? A meeting with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. The president foreshadowed it himself on his official Twitter page.
