Alphonso Davies is quickly making a name for himself, both on and off the soccer field.
On the pitch, Davies was adding to his growing reputation as one of the world's best teenage soccer stars on a weekly basis, starring for Germany's Bayern Munich and the Canadian men's national team prior to the global shutdown due to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
His otherworldly speed and athleticism have seen him quickly rise into one of the most coveted young players on the planet at just 19, but it's away from the bright lights, in self-isolation, that Davies is showing the world his true personality.

As is normal for anyone his age, Davies is active on social media. His status as a regular for one of the biggest pro teams in the world has earned him legions of fans — Davies boasts over 628,000 followers on Instagram, another half-million on TikTok and 50,000 on his (far less active) Twitter account.
Given his meteoric ascendancy into the soccer elite, Davies could've phoned in his social media presence and still gathered tons of adoring fans, but instead the Ghana-born refugee who calls Edmonton home uses his platforms to have a little fun.
Along with his photos and videos from games and practice sessions, Davies sprinkles in some truly unique, off-beat content. Nowhere is this more evident than on TikTok, where Davies fully embraces the fun-loving side of the platform.
He's done everything from showing his progress in learning German to imitating fellow soccer stars' goal celebrations, and arguably his most creative output to prior to the COVID-19 pandemic is a funny take on a "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" scene that features a rather famous Backstreet Boys song.

The parody went viral — it has more than 1.1 million views as of Monday — and caught the world of sports social media by storm, and it seems that being in isolation has continued to bring out the best of Davies' imagination.
Featuring several guest-starring spots by 18-year-old Paris Saint-Germain and Canada women's national team striker Jordyn Huitema, Davies has churned out videos while trying to keep himself entertained and engaged as he waits out a home quarantine. The videos range from silly interactions with Huitema — the couple regularly poke fun at their relationship — to quarantine-specific content that everyone can relate to, most of the time set to music (as is the TikTok tradition).

With France's Division 1 Feminine on hold for the foreseeable future, Huitema has returned to her native British Columbia and posted Saturday on Instagram that she's started the 14-day self-quarantine that is mandatory for all Canadians coming home from abroad.
However, Davies hasn't stopped churning out content. In Huitema's absence, Davies has enlisted the services of his dog in many of his videos, and he has even hit back at the critics who once (very wrongly) believed he couldn't make it at a club like Bayern.

We're all trying to pass the time during the COVID-19 crisis in our own way, but Davies seems to be winning even without kicking a ball.
